One of the things I think makes a good game (besides lots of adult content and nekkid people) should be meaningful choices to make. For Highschool Hobby Harlots, that primarily means balancing questions of how to spend Amara's time. And recently I began feeling that some of her available in-game choices weren't worth it. In particular: restaurants and clubs. There are five of these in the game: Comfy Coffee, Maid4You, HotNightz Night Club, Price-E Cocktails, and 4-Play Strip Club. Originally, they were intended as nothing more than Fun boosts. But there are a lot of ways to get Fun in the game. But other than the Coffee shop for studying, because of its slight improvement in Energy loss, the others all seemed lackluster, in that they provided a Fun bonus, but only at substantial cost in money and time. With Version 1.9, that is going to change.

For one thing, instead of costing Energy, restaurants and clubs now provide Energy. Not only that, but several of them now drop a brand new item: the Slutty Tarot card. These magical cards provide a substantial boost for 24 hours to the payout for any sex work done by the type of Girl shown. There are two types of cards: those aimed at the hair color / ethnicity of the Girl (Asian, Black, Blonde, Brunette, Latina, and Redhead) and those aimed at the type of Girl (20-something, Bimbo, MILF, and Teen). One of each type of card can be active at any one time, and their effects stack. These can give a meaningful boost to any Girl's payouts, and also provide a fun incentive to hang out at these establishments.

Not only that, but the more expensive restaurants and clubs now also have a chance to drop a high-end cosmetic. And 4-Play strip club will now also drop a pair of heels for Amara, thus creating an additional way for her to get shoes that she can trade to other Girls. Comfy Coffee is also being tweaked to make its Hang Out and Study options more appealing (but also a touch more expensive.) Finally, the drop rate for Lucky Charms for the Stargazing activity on the secluded beach has been increased as well.

The overall intent is to present the player with more head-scratchers around time management. Do you go for that beach sex achievement? Or do you try and get a Tarot card at a restaurant, or another Lucky on the beach? Or just do another iFap to level a Girl's sexperience for tonight's date? Those choices should be meaningful, and all of them should hopefully provide something valuable in the end.

Version 1.9 will also continue developing Amara, Emmy, and Gia's plot lines, as well as throwing a little background on how Slim and Harleigh know each other. All of this is building towards some fairly dramatic stuff coming in Version 1.10. Have I got multiple releases worth of plot already pretty much figured out and in many cases already written? You bet I do, and I've been enjoying that process immensely. Hopefully you will enjoy playing it!
